Welcome to my world -

a space dedicated to transformation, radical authenticity, and rebellion. I’m Alexandra Winteraven (they/them), the creator of Embodied Rebellion, and I’m here to guide you through the in-between spaces where the most profound transformations can happen.

This work is rooted in over 25 years of studying Eastern & Western psychology, spirituality, and a lifelong journey on the art of becoming.

my training and lineages

I’ve always been a seeker, weaving wisdom from diverse fields and experiences into my work:

Psychotherapist:

I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling with an emphasis in Couples and Family Therapy (University of Northern Colorado, 2015).

Roots in Earth Wisdom

My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture and a Certificate in Horticultural Therapy (Colorado State University, 2010). This grounding in earth wisdom fosters a deep relationship with the natural world, which serves as both a guide and a teacher in my work.

Somatic Integration Specialist

For years, I’ve been integrating somatic modalities into healing and transformation, developing my own unique approach. Currently, I am deepening this work through the Somatic Experiencing Training Program (anticipated completion in Fall 2026).

Guided by Symbols and Archetypes

I work with archetypal patterns and symbolic systems, such as tarot and astrology, to reveal hidden truths and foster transformation. These practices offer profound clarity and enrich the journey of self-discovery and growth

Influences

My work is shaped by the teachings of transformative visionaries such as Marion Woodman, bell hooks, Prentis Hemphill, Jean Shinoda Bolen, Thomas Moore, Pema Chödrön, Tara Brach, Joseph Campbell, Michael Meade, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Resmaa Menakem, Linda Thai, Peter Levine, Gabor Maté, Kai Cheng Thom, Ruby Gibson, Albert Wong, Audre Lorde, James Hillman, and Carl Jung. Their teachings on embodiment, trauma, archetypes, healing, social justice, and depth psychology profoundly inform my approach. This is not an exhaustive list but a glimpse into the wisdom that shapes my practice.

spiritual lineage & ancestry

Rooted in the Baltics of Lithuania, my ancestry shapes the core of my vision.

The Lithuanian seer tradition, known as raganos, pulses through my blood and bones, gifting me the ability to see deeply and offer insight with sharp precision.

My spiritual path began in childhood, when I claimed the identity of Witch long before it found mainstream acceptance.

Over time, this path has grown into a personal craft—a way of living and being that infuses every aspect of my work.

archetypes & astrology

Scorpio Stellium, 10th house, Uranus Complex

My work is a catalyst for deep transformation and radical self-reclamation. Rooted in Scorpio’s intensity, I guide others through the cycles of death and rebirth—shedding old identities, confronting hidden truths, and stepping into their most authentic, unfiltered selves.

Moon in Pisces, 2nd house

I help others navigate the emotional and energetic layers of self-worth, value, and creation. With Pisces’ intuitive depth, I hold space for the unseen—guiding people to trust their inner knowing and shape their lives from a place of soul alignment.

Aquarius Rising

A visionary, I’m guided by radical authenticity and collective rebellion, embodying the spirit of innovation and transformation that defines the Age of Aquarius.

My astrological chart is deeply woven into my practice:

These archetypes anchor my work, inspiring Embodied Rebellion as a dedication to transformation and liberation.

philosophy of transformation

I believe our souls arrive on this earth not to meet expectations or follow rules, but to uncover and embody our most radical authenticity. True transformation demands courage—it’s found in navigating discomfort, meeting our edges, and embracing the in-between spaces where magic and possibility ignite.

Transformation isn’t just an abstract idea; it’s a living force, pulsing through the liminal moments of life. My work is about holding a fierce yet compassionate container where growth happens organically, and the light breaks through in ways that are both unexpected and undeniable.

connection to place

I live, love, and work on the traditional homelands of the Clackamas, Cowlitz, Multnomah, Kathlamet, Tualatin Kalapuya, Molalla, and bands of the Chinook tribe, now known as Portland, Oregon.

This generative land grounds me in my practice and reminds me of the responsibility we carry to honor those who came before us.

a lifelong commitment to unlearning

I am a lifelong student of unlearning white supremacy and settler-colonial ways of thinking and relating. This dedication is woven into my work and life, as I continually strive to hold space for liberation and collective healing.

naming is the first magic - winteraven

The name Winteraven means “In-Between Magick.” Winter evokes the liminal spaces, where possibilities stir and transformation begins, while Raven embodies the mystical force of change, a guiding presence rooted in my animistic ancestral lineage. This name carries the potent contrast of light and dark, calling me to continuously shed old identities and rise anew.

Through this unfolding, I’ve come to embrace myself as a magickal being—untethered by gender, existing at the crossroads of human form and the unseen. This is the essence of Embodied Rebellion: a fierce disruption of the systems within and without, allowing more of our true selves to emerge in service to collective transformation.
